1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch square baking pan.
2. Stir together butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl. Add eggs; beat well with spoon. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to egg mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Prepare CREAMY BROWNIE FROSTING; spread over brownies. Cut into squares. About 16 brownies.

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas ( about 3 large)
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Vanilla Frosting
Heat oven to 375F. Grease and flour a jelly roll pan, 15 1/2"x 10 1/2" x 1" and set aside.
Mix sugar, sour cream, butter and eggs in large mixing bowl on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 1 minute.
Beat in bananas and vanilla on low speed 30 seconds
Sift dry ingredients together.
Beat in dry ingredients on medium speed. scraping bowl occasionally.
Spread evenly in pan. Bake until light brown. 20 to 25 minutes. Cool.
Frost with Vanilla Frosting. Cut into bars, 2" x 1".
Makes 75 bars.
